Our dentists are using digital radiography to help them in the detection, diagnosis, treatment and even monitoring of dental and oral related problems. We will help you get the best digital radiography procedures to help detect some oral health issues that may be bothering you.

Digital radiography is a kind of dental x-ray that features the use of digital x-ray equipment. This type of technology is quite different from the x-ray film that was popular back in the days when we lacked digital advancement. Digital radiography works much better than the traditional methods in that it produces better computer images of the gums, the teeth and other oral conditions that are being examined. This helps us to get a much better idea of how we can help you, allowing for greater success in a shorter time.

Dental X-rays Vs. Digital Dental Radiography

Digital dental radiography gives us information regarding your dentistry in far more detail than ever before. This allows us to spot problems that were harder to notice than with traditional x-rays. What’s more is that we can get a better visual map thanks to 3D imaging software which allows us to see everything clearly on a screen. One big advantage of this is that our dentists can explain things to you far more clearly, thanks to easy to understand 3D digital models. We are also able to show you future projections of how we expect procedures to go.

What Occurs During a Digital Dental Radiography Session?

The physical process used in digital dental radiography is almost identical to the traditional dental x-rays where a film is used. However, in digital dental radiography, our dentists will insert a sensor into the mouth of the patient to capture the images of the teeth therein. The images will then be relayed from the sensor inserted into the mouth and be displayed on a computer screen. The process is completely painless and will take just a few moments to complete.

Speeding Up the Process

Digital radiography will take a very short time to perform and get the results out compared to dental x-rays that are usually lengthy. Dental x-rays are usually lengthy due to the time needed to develop the film. In digital dental radiography, the sensor usually develops the picture almost immediately and then projects it onto a computer screen in just a matter of seconds. With less waiting, our dentist can get to work in planning procedures for you straight away. This means that we can shorten the time from the first appointment to the completion of a successful procedure far sooner.
